I stayed with my wife for just one night on vacation, and I must say the hotel truly deserves a lot of praise. From the polite, helpful, and friendly staff to the cleanliness and service, the elegant, well-maintained structure, and the breakfast was worthy of all, especially the quality of the products and the wide selection. I've worked in the tourism industry for 30 years as a restaurant manager, and have visited many hotels for work and vacation. If instead of high-sounding names like "Palace" and "Luxury Dependance," it had simply been called "Pensione Maria," we wouldn't have said anything. But paying a five-star hotel to find yourself on the ground floor of a 1960s/70s-era public housing project, with the upstairs tenant hanging out the sheets in front of one window and cars parked in front of the other was a situation so ridiculous it was almost comical. I don't know if I can post photos; if I do, they'll illustrate better than words.
