Satomo Ryokan

This is the inn where my child stayed on a school trip when he was in elementary school. It's very close to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for sightseeing. For dinner, we had sukiyaki. There was more than enough meat for our family of four. It was a great deal and delicious. For breakfast, we had chawanmushi and miso soup with yuba, which was very satisfying.

I stayed for one night. The location is perfect, being close to Kyoto Station. There are also many restaurants nearby. It's a traditional inn, and the interior was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and I had a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again when I come to Kyoto.

My son stayed here for a school trip two years ago, and it was still a great inn, so we chose it for a family trip. It's very conveniently located near the station. They offer luggage storage before and after our stay, so we were able to sightsee lightly. The staff are friendly and smiling. We put our shoes in the shoebox and wear slippers throughout the building. We leave our keys at the door when we go out. The woman who prepared dinner and laid out the futon was pretty, but... she didn't smile, had a quiet voice, clattered dishes, walked back and forth between the hallway and our room without shoes, started cleaning up while people were still eating, slammed the futon down, and there was a lot of dust. Also, the plastic cover on the side of the bathtub came off while I was filling it with water. The shower mist was refreshing. There were plenty of amenities. They had about eight different types of bath salts and bubble bath mix, which was a nice touch. It was a shame that dinner (served in our room) was too big and we couldn't finish it all. Breakfast (in the basement hall) was also hearty and delicious, so we were satisfied. It was lively outside at night. There are people walking around even late at night. Maybe it's because there are a lot of izakayas. In the morning, it's quiet like a different world.
