My husband and I were on a week-long trip over the Christmas and New Year's Eve periods. The price was appropriately high, considering the above, and we expected decent standards. I'll add at the outset that we travel the world an average of six times a year for the past ten years. Therefore, I'm open to being objective; perhaps this opinion will be useful to some. So, if anyone is planning or dreaming of Dubai from the advertising brochures of Polish travel agencies, the Savoy Central is a great place to quickly come back down to earth. More specifically, to a migrant district, exceptionally far from the city center, where luxury ends with the hotel's name. Metro - red line plus a transfer to the green line (about 20 km to the central part). The area? Socially exotic, mostly immigrant population, with a more "watch your back" vibe than a "sunset stroll." The comfort of navigating the streets is moderate, and the sense of safety is somewhat debatable. We had the opportunity to try two rooms, as the first offered a free concert: the roar of the elevator + 24/7 street noise, with no "quiet hours" option. The second was... well, a little less noisy, but with lukewarm water. Both definitely need refreshing. The pool deserves a special mention: a square pond for up to 6 people (unless you're into each other), more for soaking in than relaxing. An attraction as a consequence of the listing. The food – breakfast – wasn't bad, but if you're expecting a selection of cold meats, cheeses, or even tomatoes – don't count on it. The overall taste of the food was... neutral. Very neutral. As if the kitchen was afraid of spices. The very friendly and helpful staff deserve a plus. Not to be confused with professionalism. In summary: in my opinion, this is not a hotel for those seeking even a semblance of Dubai's comfort, atmosphere, or tranquility. It's more of a place that teaches you to be grateful for other hotels. If Dubai, stay closer to the city center or in the city center, away from this district. Unless you enjoy adventure, noise, and culinary minimalism.
