Review: NYE Gala at Savoy Palace Grand Ballroom (must read) This event was extremely disappointing and absolutely not worth the price. Tickets were around $600 per person—more expensive than any party I’ve attended—and the value was far below expectations. From the start, the experience felt restrictive. Guests were welcomed at 6:30 PM with champagne or white wine, but here’s the catch: those were the only drink options until after midnight. No cocktails, no variety—just champagne or white wine for over five hours. When I asked for a cocktail, the staff refused and did so in a surprisingly rude manner. For an event marketed as an extravaganza party, this was misleading at best. After midnight, liquor was available, but still no cocktails—only basic mixers like soda water. Again, the bartenders were rude when I asked for a cocktail like I asking for something outrageous. The food was equally underwhelming: small portions (a few ounces of meat or fish) and nothing memorable. The live band started midway through dinner and was so loud it made conversation difficult. Their set consisted mostly of generic cover songs, similar to what you’d hear at an average wedding. Overall, this felt like an event designed to maximize profit (cheap champagne and wine) rather than deliver a premium experience. For the price for $600 USD per person, I expected something exceptional. Instead, it was restrictive, poorly executed, and disappointing. I strongly recommend skipping this party.
