Settebello Village

Many campsites were already closed, even though it was September 15th and 30 degrees Celsius. Luckily, this one was open. Beautiful pitches under shade cloths. Sanitary facilities are dated. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the restaurant was (also) closed for the season. Close to Terracina.

My first visit to the Settebello campsite was around 1975 with my parents – it was our very first camping holiday, tent included. The atmosphere, warmth, and hospitality simply blew me away. In the years that followed, it was always clear where we would go on holiday: Settebello. My parents and I met so many Italian friends that long-lasting friendships developed. It may not be a gleaming 5-star site, but it has a unique atmosphere – a simple camping paradise with character. Later, I went there with my own family. Now, at 60, I visited Settebello twice in a row with my wife in 2024 and 2025. The atmosphere and that certain flair are still there – as if time has stood still. Only the beach has suffered over the years; it used to be about 30 meters wide. We've seen the world and experienced a lot, but the recreational value of Settebello is incomparable. A nostalgic reason is certainly swirling: the memories keep the rippling water and the neighbors' laughter alive. Yes, it's not a 5-star course, but it's well maintained – they say there's always room for improvement. The restaurant (formerly "Tavola Calda") is well-run and serves the best pasta al pomodoro of my life. In the evening, the stone-baked pizza tastes simply fantastic. You have to get involved with the course: sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, but always with that typical Italian charm. We'll be back in 2026, this time with our sister and brother-in-law – twice the joy, twice the stories, twice the espresso. Thank you, Settebello, for all the memories – we're really looking forward to coming back!

My wife and I stayed at the campsite for one night in our motorhome on August 27, 2025. We noticed that since our first stay six years ago, nothing had been updated in the already very old sanitary facilities, except for a small toilet container. The disappointment came the next morning when we checked out, when the lady at the cashier asked us €60 for one night (with 6 amp electricity). A similar price was not charged at any of the sites we stayed at during our four weeks. Furthermore, the sanitary facilities were not as poorly maintained at any other site. We do not recommend this campsite!
