So overall, this is a good property. I would say the prices are on par for what is to be expected. Let's start out with the good: - The ride and boat transfer from the airport to the hotel is seamlessly flawless. They have really perfected this. As soon as you get off the plane, someone is there to scoop you up and drive you to the boat lounge where the boat is waiting. The staff on the boat are kind and pointed out parts of the island as you are jetting down the water. Really great experience. -Upon arrival, you are greeted by friendly staff and taken to the lobby to check in. Proper luxury check in - you are seated, given a welcome drink, and then taken to your room via buggy and shown around the resort. -The rooms here are nice, even at the entry level. I saw some reviews calling them outdated, but I disagree. I felt they were very refined and nice. If you can spring for the larger villas you won't be disappointed, they are stunning and HUGE. -Food is hit or miss. Some days breakfast buffet had a lot of amazing options, other days it barely hit the mark. Overall, breakfast service was good. The young man that works the fresh juice area at breakfast was so friendly and remembered my order everyday. He stood out to me for excellent service. The restaurants on property vary quite a bit. The casual pool-side restaurant has a diverse menu, but some of the options aren't great. I mention this because this is also where service is hit or miss. My biggest grievance with the hotel was when I brought up I felt something tasted funny/spoiled at the pool side restaurant, an inadequate excuse was made saying an item was just overcooked. From a luxury resort, I expect an apology and an offer to re-make the dish fresh or to remove the dish from my table and bill. The excuse also did not make sense, overcooking this item does not lead it to taste rotten. Regardless, service wasn't bad other than that. The pizza at the pool side restaurant is pretty good, some of the other dishes weren't, but I suppose it depends on your taste buds. They also did have occasional issues with inventory (menu items being unavailable) but this would resolve day to day, which is understandable for being in an island where supply chains can get complicated. The Mediterranean restaurant was our favorite out of all of the dining options, everything from the steak options to the fish were excellent. One thing to be aware of is it is a first come first serve basis for beach chairs which means the dreaded beach chair war of trying to snag a spot early lol. The beach staff is pretty good, very friendly and accommodating. I did notice stains on some of the beach towels, and some were torn at the edges and raggedy (not a big deal, just a little thing I noticed that I haven't experienced at other hotels). All in all, the staff is warm and the property is beautiful. The beaches are nice and I would return. It is not a flawless stay but it is still an amazing one and I think most guests will enjoy it.

We truly had a beautiful stay at Shangri-La Boracay. The setting is stunning, the views are amazing, the beach is gorgeous, and the whole place feels very special. The staff is absolutely wonderful, kind, attentive, professional, and always smiling. They genuinely make you feel welcome, and they deserve a huge thank you. The airport transfer is also extremely well done. From the moment you exit the airport, everything is taken care of until you’re brought directly to your room. Same for the return. It’s smooth, comfortable, and stress-free, which is really appreciated. Our room was large, beautiful, very clean, with a gorgeous ocean view, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is calm and enjoyable. We honestly had a great time, and the environment is truly amazing. However, and this is the main point — the value for money is not there. We paid around USD 3,900 for four nights, which is almost USD 1,000 per night, and at that price, I personally expect a near-perfect experience. While everything was good, it didn’t feel exceptional enough to justify the cost. The hotel is starting to feel a bit dated and could really benefit from renovations to match its price and reputation. There were also many families and kids during our stay. I’m not sure if this is always the case, so I mention it with some reserve, but for travelers looking for calm and relaxation, it can take away from the luxury feel you expect at this level. The breakfast, on the other hand, is outstanding, one of the best we’ve had. Huge variety, great flavors, and very well executed. The staff there (like everywhere in the hotel) was excellent. One last detail: at nearly USD 1,000 per night, I was surprised that activities like tennis were not included. Paying extra for a short session, especially when the courts were empty, felt unnecessary at this price point. To be clear: we loved our stay, the place is beautiful, and the people are amazing. But at almost USD 1,000 per night, the pricing feels excessive for what is offered. With better value alignment and some updates, this hotel could be truly outstanding.

We stayed at the Shangri-La Boracay for three days. It was a wonderful experience, a magical place with truly five-star service. The beach is magnificent, and the hotel is nestled on the cliffs, away from the noise of the city center—a very calm and relaxing place. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which offered a wide selection and consistently high quality. Rima and Sirena are also excellent. The room was spacious and quite modern, with a pleasant bathroom. The only downside was the lack of a view (it was the last room available). The gym was also very nice, although athletic shoes are required. It was a wonderful experience in this magnificent corner of paradise, and we will most certainly return.
