I stayed here for two nights as a solo traveler in my 30s. Thank you very much. This hotel has the bare minimum of amenities and is suitable for people who want a budget-friendly "room and board" experience. For meals, I ate at a convenience store or at Unryutei, which is about a 10-minute walk away. For baths, I used the Unzen hot springs while sightseeing in Shimabara. So, I mostly just slept here. It was a very relaxing environment. I wonder if the noise from the air conditioner is from the refrigerant gas inside. It was making noise, but it didn't bother me at all. The free parking and free laundry were very helpful. I imagine that hiring cooking staff is costly, so I think it's great that they take advantage of the location to provide these services. On the other hand, those who value high service quality (not the staff) or luxury may be dissatisfied, but frankly, I don't think this hotel in Shimabara will be an inconvenience. Given COVID-19 and the current state of Japanese society, I'm sure running a hotel is extremely difficult, but I think they're gradually updating the status quo while maintaining the status quo. Even so, it seems that your company is expanding its business, so I think you are working very hard. The second half of this review is no longer a hotel review, but I may use your hotel again the next time I come to Shimabara, although only in the winter. I look forward to seeing you again then.

It's a hotel from the past. Everything is run-down. It's doable for a one-night stay, but not for an extended period. Breakfast is a packed lunch. My luck was getting a room on the 8th floor with a view of Shimabara Castle.
