Singular Dream Beach Residences

This is a little confusing, because when I booked, I thought it was a hotel but it is an apartment/VRBO type of place. When we arrived, the service provided by the representative was among the worst I've experienced. They appeared confused, and made us feel as if we were in the wrong place. I wish I could remember the name of the BOY who first helped us, he was extremely rude and looked as if he wanted to be anywhere besides doing his job. If I were the supervisor of these guys, I would tell them to clean the entrance to the place instead of watching tik-tok or whatever, because it was not clean at all. The entrance was terrible, all stairs from the street to the lobby and very difficult to get luggage up there. When we go to our door, there was no plate around the lock cylinder... just a hole around it that you could see inside the door. There were also no keys to the in-room safe, I thought it was out-of-order, until a couple days later, when they provided the keys due an incident we had. It took a day for me to find the person who was in charge of the rental unit, Ericka, who is a very supportive and understanding person. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected behavior of a "friend" who was traveling with us, Ericka had to become involved. She helped us greatly in this tough and very embarrassing situation. She is the reason I'm giving 5-stars for SERVICE. Overall, this place is not the best choice of where to stay in Playa del Carmen. But, I hope wherever you decide to go... you find an Ericka who can resolve any unexpected conflict when you are trying to have a relaxing vacation. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate all the support we received from Ericka.

I wish i would have trusted the previous reviews. I thought having been to this property several times before the reviews must have been from picky people. Do not stay here. The city turned off the water to this condo for several DAYS during the two weeks stay because the condo had not paid the water bill. The electricity company turned off the access to the air conditioning unit for almost the entire stay despite it being over 30 degrees. Everyday the lobby was filled with people checking out WITHOUT refunds. Poor people who work the front desk who have no power to do anything were very stressed. you’ve been warned. Heed the advice from these reviews that i was to stupid to take. thats not even mentioning that you cant use the safe because the staff steals from them.

Will not be staying and don’t recommend others to. We have rented Airbnbs from two different hosts and while the building appears to be beautiful, there are major underlying issues. The air conditioning was broken for 2 or 3 nights each time. Once last year and once this year the ac was broken and the inside temperature became in the high 80’s to low 90’s. This year , the elevator was broken for a night in addition to the broken a/c. The shower only gets lukewarm warm. The front desk people are nice, but multiple days of no A/C is tough on rating their, “service.” We found another room’s balcony lock (it was on floor one too!) did not work which may lend to other peoples’ security issues where they reported stolen money.
