I had a very pleasant stay at the Sofitel Hongqiao. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the overall service is up to the Sofitel standard. However, there are two points that could definitely be improved considering the price of the stay. First, the Wi-Fi connection is quite weak and unstable, which can be inconvenient, especially for business travelers. Second, the Club Millésime buffet is rather limited in terms of options and closes quite early. For the additional cost, I expected a more generous and extended offering. Overall, it’s still a great hotel, but upgrading the Wi-Fi and enhancing the Club Millésime experience would make it truly perfect.

I stayed at Sofitel Shanghai during the CIIE event and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel offered regular free shuttles to and from the expo at specific times, which made getting to the venue so convenient. There was also a dedicated CIIE service desk in the hotel offering the same free transfers, but they had passes to enter the venue directly, meaning less walking and faster access inside. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a fantastic variety of both Western and Asian options, a perfect start to each day. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I also tried the in-room dining, which was both tasty and reasonably priced. The location was another plus just a short 5-minute walk to one shopping mall and about 6 minutes by taxi to another, making it easy to grab meals, shop, or explore after a long day at the expo. What really stood out was the staff everyone was friendly, professional, and always willing to help. They even went out of their way to help me get to the airport earlier than scheduled after my flight was changed due to delays. Overall, an excellent stay with outstanding service, great amenities, and a convenient location. I’d highly recommend Sofitel Shanghai, especially for anyone attending CIIE or visiting the area for business or leisure.
