Spark by Hilton Tupelo

I would rate this hotel as "just fine". Pros: This is conveniently located on a frontage road right off he highway. It is near a gas station and a huddle house restaurant. The hotel has fresh paint and is clean. The bed was very comfortable. The TV allowed you to access different streaming services. Cons: Not sure if they renovated a very old building or just built with lower end materials. I compare it to the difference between a Formica countertop and granite. It was clean and functional just not posh in any sense of the word. The breakfast was the same. It was laid out nicely and included bagels, muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit. It did not include any type of hot breakfast items. Sadly the coffee and two of the four cereals were empty and did not get refilled while we were in the foyer. When we asked about it, the gentleman just pointed to the raisen bran and decaf and went out for a smoke break. Also note: there is a microwave but it is difficult to find. It is next to the check in counter in the gift shop. Safety Concern: the main floor side entrance was missing bottom of the middle door jam. Although one needed a key to get in and unlock the door, it would not take much for someone to bypass this. Also, it let in a lot of cold air.

Great room. Very clean. Booked room for return trip. Only drawback is at night the road isn’t sell lite coming up to it. Kind of confusing.

This is truly you get what you pay for hotel except there is no excuse for a Hilton brand to have dirty rooms. We stayed here for a sleep and get back on the road stopover since it was priced low. The evening clerk was very nice. The room was basic but just like all the other reviews the room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was hair on the bathroom counter, a used washcloth still hanging in the shower, and the bath wash container was empty. The bathroom floor looked like it had been mopped but you could see it hadn’t been scrubbed in a long time. At checkout, I mentioned these things to the morning clerk and he gave me the most scripted, “I will let the manager know” and didn’t note the room number or issues. The guest checking out beside me showed be a picture of the hair weave she found beside the bed in her room. Breakfast was the most basic you can imagine in the realm of free breakfast. The bed was very comfortable.
