SpringHill Suites by Marriott Winter Park

I went just to visit a friend who was staying at this hotel. The overall area is a bit congested and busy but the hotel lobby, exercise room and guest rooms were nice, clean & modern. Didn't take long to catch a Lyft.

I'm staying at the Springfield suites by Marriott in Winter Park for the first time. The hotel is located in a somewhat hidden location but is easily locatable using GPS. The rooms are in excellent condition and have all of the amenities that I would expect in a luxury suite except for a pool. Aside from the fact that it has the typical amenities I was impressed with the specifically isolated work zone that can be separated by a triple glass divider helping to separate the workspace from the sleeping space. It also has multiple USB ports (I counted about 10) which gives me the opportunity to charge all my electronic devices without having to bring along a cube with multiple ports. The view from my room faces the front above the hotel and provides me with a view of a parking garage directly across the way, which is not great, but you are within walking distance of multiple restaurants and shopping along with convenience stores. The complimentary breakfast is the best that I have had while staying at a hotel of this caliber. Absolutely delicious and pretty much everything you could ever want! Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, waffles with multiple toppings including pecan sprinkles, cereals, fruit, various juices, bagels, croissants, and coffee with various flavor options. Probably some other items that I've forgotten. Staff is super friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a quality hotel but who is not overly concerned with having a pool and a view.

It takes a lot of nerve to charge $15 per night for parking when half the lot is obstructed with construction barriers and you very likely have to walk to an overflow lot. If your search for a spot is unsuccessful (any time after 7PM for us) you must back down the aisle to escape. Clearly why I’d pay $15 per night. It isn’t a great distance to the overflow but it isn’t handy either. It is adjacent to a U-Haul truck rental lot. If it’s raining it is iffy (especially Florida storm type) and we worked to make ours early evenings. Walking even a block, late in the evening, would be unacceptable for many when the lot is beyond observation or activity/population related to the hotel. For that same reason the usual admonition that we park at our own risk is annoying, since the risk is higher. No incident. But always a concern.
