We made reservations on Bon Voy app and ended up speaking with a agent who very nicely made our request over the phone. When we arrived ThursdayOctober 16 we were greeted by the front desk attendant who within the first 5 minutes of conversation requested to be paid upfront for our room. We had never heard of such foolishness. We have traveled all summer and this had never happened. The manager and the general manager all said the same thing. I said I'm accustomed to my bill paid on the morning of my departure with the card used to secure the reservation. These foreign speaking people were rude pushy and loud. I called ahead at my next stop in Bay City Michigan to see if that was their policy also. And of course it was not. The manager says put the Bay City Courtyard on loud speaker so I did. He politely repeated what he had told me privately. The manager still did not believe the other Hotel employee and started asking inappropriate questions. About handling over a room key to unpaid guest. At this point I said I no longer wanted to stay at this Hotel. It was being implied that we didn't have money on our credit card. We left. The only good that occurred was we didn't stay. And after calling my family member that is a Marriott manager himself he was able to send us 5 minutes away to a Courtyard and we were welcomed and treated very well. By all means pass up this hotel it is run by incompetent employees and according to the other reviews a total dump .

This place has construction barriers in the entrance so I past it up the 1st time, 2nd time I went through another entrance which was flooded, once through the water and parked - the hotel was actually decent looking, rooms were clean, bed was comfy, it was hot in the pool room/ area. Decent but pricey.
