SpringHill Suites Pittsburgh North Shore

First time booking room. Check in was great. Room was decent. (Now let me get to the reasons why I gave the low stars.) Saturday evening, a group of young males that appeared to be between the ages of 16-21 decided to play: "KnockOnDoorThenRunLikeVeryYoungChildrenInFifthGrade". I went to the front desk, and with very little regard, the front desk asked me what I wanted to do. Of course, I suggested another room. With no trouble at all, I was given a room on the 8th floor that I assume was freshly cleaned and ready for my relocation. I was warned that it was "very hot", but I was already in hell with the disturbances. Sunday morning before checkout, my door was knocked on again, but this time, those knuckles belonged to housekeeping. A male employee began to ask if there was a medication left inside the room, was the room cleaned, when did we come to the room, ect. It was explained very clearly that the room did not contain said medication, but this only prompted another guest, the one looking for the medication, to approach my door and ask again with different words. It was reiterated that the medication was not in the room. 30 minutes later, the employee knocked again, interrupting a shower. He asked if the medication was "by the microwave" as if he did not want to accept the reality that the medication was not in the room with me. He even walked in to look, (he was allowed only because he would not leave). The other guest must have convinced him that my privacy was not important. Once again, I am being bothered while paying for privacy. At check out, I reported what happened and received an explanation of how irate the other guest got and an apology, with a promise of points on my new account. I was quoted "10,000 and do not see them yet. -Slamming doors all night -Disgusting hallways (food and garbage in stairwell) -Spit inside the elevator The staff was very nice, and they did not influence my rating. It was the atmosphere. I would never stay there again, and I feel the deception of being told I would have 10,000 points and not even seeing them on my account that the front desk made for me is so mean. I hope they are being truthful about being sorry. My visit really sucked.

The room was very nice and clean. Comfy bed with a good breakfast. The spinache quiche was delicious! However, the check-in process was awful..... The system was down and Arlene who assisted me at the front desk was most unprofessional. She was not concerned with my needs. I asked her for a receipt after she rang my credit card 3 times, she refused. When I asked for her name (because I didn't see a name tag) she refused to give it to me. I asked for the manager on duty and she said there was none. I asked for the managers name and she refused to give it to me and covered her chest where the name badge should have been. Thank goodness for the kindness of Michael who provided me with the information that I requested. He was the saving grace in the situation. If it weren't for Michael, I would have left to never return! I look forward to hearing from the manager whom I emailed during the check in process. I thought this establishment prided themselves on customer service. Let's see what transpires. Mind you, I am in the top 10% of Google Guide reviewers in the world. I believes this carries a lot of weight. I hope that this situation can have a positive ending so that future guests receive the service that they deserve and pay for.
