Sprowston Manor Hotel Golf & Country Club

Not entirely sure why this hotel has such poor reviews. Yes the staff are all about 6 months old, but they are all professional, smiling and run a tight ship. Yes the jacuzzi is still (and seemingly will be for the rest of time) out of service. But it sits next to a lovely pool, well equipped gym and sauna- the steam room is a little closer to slightly warm fog though. The rooms are lovely, the place is clean, I would recommend. My only bit of feedback is the walls are a little thin, but that’s a hard issue to fix.

Ruined my wedding night - avoid at all costs!!! Booked a room at Sprowston Manor after my legal wedding ceremony as a treat and I can’t speak badly enough about my experience. Totally disinterested and at times rude reception staff. Room was much smaller than the photos and quite run down (marks on the wall, damage to the doors, damage to the table etc). No additional in room facilities. The room was quite dusty and clearly hadn’t had a deep clean in a long time. The carpet was filthy and stained. The room was extremely hot and the window opened on to a low brick wall and some sort of vent was pumping a strong smell of food (curry) directly at our window. Bathroom was tiny and very run down. The ‘double bed’ was extremely small for two average sized people and both of us had a very uncomfortable night. When we asked if we could change rooms, the reception staff said they had no available rooms and showed no empathy at all that it was our wedding night. Didn’t use any of the facilities or breakfast - just tried to get out as soon as we could. Tried to complain to the manager the next day and was just told to email the customer service team. After almost a year of repeated emails and telephone calls, finally had an extremely dissatisfactory response to the email - just copied and pasted my complaints back at me.
