SuMa Recoleta Hotel

Many reviews are unfair. When I read them, I was even scared, but my experience was positive. The hotel staff is very helpful and polite, made up of cheerful and smiling young people, men and women. The reception area is beautiful, with comfortable sofas and background music. The breakfast is good and adequate; I was very satisfied. It includes cereals, milk, coffee, yogurt, butter, cream cheese, cold cuts (cheese, salami, etc.), various breads, as well as croissants, cakes and sweets, among other things. The breakfast area is small, but whenever I went to eat, I had no trouble finding a place to sit. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the air conditioning works well, and the beds are also comfortable. The only downside is that you can hear some noise from the hallway, but it didn't bother me at all. The bathroom is also beautiful and clean, the showers are strong and have hot or cold water. Room service was also good, always very attentive, but they should pay a little more attention to towel changes. One day they forgot to put out two towels, one for me and one for my wife. Since we are a couple, we ended up using the same towel and didn't complain. Another point is the toilet paper; if it's almost finished, they don't replace it, at least that's what we noticed. And then you have to ask for another one or wait for the next day with room service, which is a bit inconvenient. I suggest they leave two rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom for each room service. I think it's fairer and gives guests more freedom. Something many people complained about was the elevators: they are good, they are indeed old, small, only allowing two people to enter at a time, but nothing that prevents their proper functioning. If it's already occupied, just wait a little, nothing major. Besides, I didn't find them that noisy. Some criticisms are quite exaggerated! The location is good, with cafes and restaurants nearby, and it's very close to the tourist attractions and bars of Recoleta, making it easy to walk. Despite this, the location is very peaceful and quiet; there isn't much traffic on the street, which makes the place much more comfortable. For those who enjoy walking, it's also possible to walk to the city center. For those with mobility difficulties, you can easily get an Uber or walk to the bus stop in about 5 minutes.

Back in Belo Horizonte, we slept in Buenos Aires, the air conditioning wasn't working. Breakfast was in a very hot and small place.

It's okay. The price is reasonable. The beds are a bit worn. The elevator is always overcrowded.
