Sun Comfort Hotel

I have stayed in dozens of hotels and this is the first time we have ever left one. We booked a hotel with non smoking rooms. What I was given instead was a room that smelt of old cigarette smoke the moment the door opened. It wasn’t a faint smell, it was strong and impossible to ignore. We are non-smokers and the smell made us feel nausious. I reported this to reception straight away and asked for a different room. They told us they were full but their solution was to spray air freshener, which masked the smell for a short time before it came back even stronger during the night. We barely slept because the smell was so suffocating. The next morning, I asked again to be moved. Instead of taking responsibility, I was told the hotel was “full” and they could do nothing. After persistance they eventually showed me one room, but this also smelled of smoke. There was no genuine suitable alternative offered, and when we had to leave, they refused to provide a refund At that point, we had no option but to leave and pay for another hotel out of our own pocket. The original room simply wasn’t usable, and nothing the hotel offered remotely matched what we had booked. The other hotel was amazing and saved our holiday. What made the whole situation much worse was the attitude. There was no apology, no real attempt to fix the issue, and absolutely no acknowledgment that a non-smoking room that smells like an ashtray is unacceptable. If you want an idea of how you will be spoken to if there is an issue with your stay just read the hotels responses to other poor reviews. This was easily the worst hotel experience I’ve had. If you expect a clean, smoke-free room, honesty in what you’re booking, or any form of respectful or professional customer service, avoid this place completely. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that won’t leave you feeling like you’ve wasted your money and your time.

I really liked the hotel. Even though it's a three-star hotel, it's very decent. The room was clean and cozy, and had everything I needed. I only had breakfast, and it was quite filling and delicious. I especially liked the lentil soup; it was delicious, filling, and well-seasoned. The hotel is well located, close to shops and attractions. I'm very grateful to the hotel staff at reception; they were very helpful in resolving my luggage issue. I wish the hotel prosperity and good health to all the staff!
