The rooms were lovely — spotless, beautifully presented, and equipped with comfortable bedding and everything you’d expect in a well-appointed hotel room. The staff were warm, kind, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. My only concern relates to the lake view rooms and the lack of privacy. The balconies don’t have proper dividers, so if you happen to have an intrusive neighbour, they can easily lean over and look directly into your room. Unfortunately, this meant we felt unable to use the outdoor space due to the close proximity and overall awkwardness. I’d strongly recommend addressing the privacy issue, as it would make an otherwise excellent stay far more comfortable and relaxing for guests.

We have stayed at Suncourt multiple times as a family of 4. With 2 kids, the pool area is perfect. With both a shallow toddler pool and deeper pool it suits everyone. It also has a lovely hot plunge pool. The rooms themselves are excellent. We always book the units which look directly out to the Lake, which are the most expensive option...but its nice to sit out on the patio once the kids have gone to bed with a glass of wine. The rooms are always lovely and clean with ample room. The only thing that really bugs me is the $250 pre authorization they take. We checked out yesterday, and its still showing as a hold on my card. This could be a deal breaker if you are travelling with a tight budget. We have never dined at the Restaurant, as its just a short walk to town with every type of food option open to you. The Taupo markets are on each Sunday right opposite the hotel, definitely recommend heading over for a look. Its a great market!
