STAY AWAY. Worst resort/hotel experience ever. Where do I start. I booked based on the Google reviews. Upon arrival they make you pay upfront before getting your room. My family went for my 40th birthday. Once paid we get to the room and not quite what is shown in the website pictures. Wasn’t overly clean. Only a sheet for covers. Patio furniture is tattered and well past its prime. My girls were to sleep on the pull out which is a double foam couch but no sheets. Had to request multiple times for it to be made up. We go down to the pool and they don’t show or let you know the resort is under major construction. Grinders jackhammers definitely not ideal. The pools didn’t look overly clean scum ring on the tile edge at water level. Both hot tubs not working cold and one foaming with scum. It was at this point I was not happy and asked to speak to a supervisor. Made me wait over an hour for a manger to come (apparently was at a different resort.) I mentioned we were not happy and I wanted to switch to a different resort. I said I would pay for the night and we would like to check out in the morning. The manager said we could switch rooms (Forgot to mention our room had no hot water for shower. And if you flushed the toilet it would air bubble spit the water up and out of it.) I said I just wanted to leave. He agreed we shook hands and said the staff would process the refund in the morning. This process took so long I didn’t even eat dinner. My family did and comments were it was marginal at best. Morning comes and we check out at 10:00 and here becomes the BS. They agree they are to refund me but can’t refund my Mastercard and start with direct deposit forms and that it needs to proceeded in their finance department and could take weeks. I am incredibly suspect of this take some photos of the paper work, and get and email confirming the checkout and refund to be processed. After probably 15 emails and more phone calls still no refund I have engaged Mastercard to take over. At this point communication has stopped from their end. They have STOLEN from me. Stay anywhere else. Worst experience I have had traveling and completely ruined our holiday. I have wasted countless hours trying to recover my money. They transfer you to this department then to finance it is the most frustrating loop of BS. STAY AWAY FROM SUNSET PLAZA.

This resort is not only in a great location, and beautiful But this place has the most amazing staff and hospitality I've ever received in my life anywhere..I am beyond happy and impressed with the rooms which all have an ocean view, full amenities and comfortable n spacious, top of the line linens. Pools are clean, warm, and food is off the charts delicious. Location is on the water and beach is well kept and clean. Great activities, live music most nights, nice coffee shop on property, has salads, sandwiches, n pastries too... But again the hospitality is off the charts AMAZING.. WE ALREADY BOOKED OUR TRIP BACK FOR NEXT YEAR

My partner and I had a great vacation here for 9 days. The service was fantastic and the servers made it feel like home. The food was pretty good too. There was three places of food to choice from pizza place, crepes/smoothie place, Italian place and another restaurant. Overall did not get bored of the food for a 9 day trip. We had a room in the renovated side and it was clean/modern and the view was amazing. We really enjoyed the spa as well, it was very professional and relaxing. There was construction happening with the new building but we didn’t notice it too much. The hotel is in a great location as well and the beach is not overcrowded. It was bittersweet leaving, we had such a good time here.
