We chose Supalai Resort as a spot to unwind after a long flight and before heading to our next destination in Koh Yao Yai. The room was comfy for us, especially with our two-year-old in tow, and the resort’s pools were good to swim and play. A few tips: make sure to grab some snacks and drinks on your way there. The resort is in a remote location, so getting a taxi can be a bit tricky. Also, while the breakfast was good, we found that portions for lunch were a little small, especially considering there aren't any other restaurants nearby. Prices were on the higher end for what you get. The resort doesn't have a real beach, but the shore is beautiful, and the shuttle service (3 minutes downhill) was convenient. There is another pool there and a small playground (under coconut tree?). It would be nice if they took more environmental responsibility, though—during low tide, there was quite a bit of rubbish on the shore that was unpleasant to see, especially with small crabs around. We took a short walk around the area, and there’s construction happening nearby, which means more deforestation. Wouldn’t be surprised if a 7/11 shows up here in a few years!

Fantastic view from room, restaurant, both pools! Food is good and plenty of choice. Disadvantage is that is far from the city, but there is free shuttle as a compensation.

TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! Avoid this location. It is nowhere near the promised 4 stars. Air conditioning from the last century. A swimming pool with insufficient beach seats for the large number of tourists accommodated. Access to the so-called private beach is difficult and taking a dip in the ocean water is an unattainable dream! There is only one restaurant with few options for those coming from Europe (for example, any variety of cheese is completely missing) otherwise many specific Asian dishes. The cleanliness of the restaurant's kitchen leaves much to be desired, which was directly observed through the half-open door at one point. We had to pay for the departure trip to the airport out of our own pocket because the hotel, although it was supposed to pay for the transfer, did not. Communication with all the staff, including at the reception, is very difficult because they do not even speak English satisfactorily. Conclusion: FIASCO
