Super 8 by Wyndham Chipley

Never stay at this property. The place appears to be a family-run operation with extremely unprofessional behavior and no hospitality standards. I don’t understand how Wyndham allows this property to operate under its brand. I stayed here for one night, and this experience has made me reconsider staying with Wyndham in the future. The front desk smelled strongly of curry. In the room, the lights did not work, the toilet would not flush, door doesn’t lock and there was a cricket/insect inside the room. At 10:40 a.m., someone knocked aggressively on our door as if there was an emergency. When we reported these issues, the housekeeper was rude and dismissive. She said we didn’t know how to turn on the light, accused us of using too much tissue causing the toilet issue, and denied the presence of insects. When I showed her a video as proof, she changed her statement and claimed the video was not from their property, even though it clearly was. I stopped engaging because both she and her son continued being rude and refused to take responsibility or apologize. The situation escalated when the so-called manager arrived. When I said I did not want to deal with such behavior, he used abusive language and moved toward me aggressively as if he was going to hit me. I started recording, and his son had to physically pull him back. This behavior is clearly visible in the video. This was a very unsafe and disturbing experience. No guest should feel threatened or verbally abused for raising legitimate complaints. I have reported this incident to Wyndham and hope they take serious action, including reconsidering this property’s franchise status.

Due to no hotel availability, we had to book Super 8 by Wyndham in Chipley, FL very late at night and checked in around 3:00 AM. Immediately upon entering the room, we realized the door would not close properly. My husband had to physically lift the door for it to shut, and it took us nearly 10 minutes to figure out how to secure it. This was extremely unsafe, especially arriving so late at night. We also found two large insects in the room. In the morning, at 10:45 AM, staff aggressively banged on our door stating it was checkout time. When we explained we had just arrived a few hours earlier and asked them to calm down, we were told they “push reminders” before the 11:00 AM checkout, which was unnecessary and disruptive. While getting ready to leave, we discovered the toilet flush was not working at all, leaving us with no choice but to exit the property immediately. As we were leaving, we politely informed the staff (family members cleaning the property) about the issues. Instead of addressing them, we were met with dismissive and insulting responses, including: • The toilet didn’t flush because we used “too much toilet paper” • Lights not working was “not needed” • We must have got Insects from outside • We should be thankful they “allowed” us to check out at 11:30 AM The conversation escalated due to their abusive and disrespectful behavior, and they ultimately asked us to leave and called the police. The police listened to both sides and advised us to contact Wyndham directly and leave the property as the situation was clearly unprofessional and unproductive. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had—unsafe room conditions, broken amenities, and hostile staff behavior. I strongly do not recommend this location.

Towel bar missing in bathroom brackets there flooring was separated with gaps all over. Back bothered me from the bed. Bathroom Had spots in the paint. Water was almost non existant in the faucet no Pressure at all the deadbolt did not line up so we could not use it.
