Super 8 by Wyndham Lees Summit

Review of Super 8 by Wyndham – Lee’s Summit I didn’t have high expectations, but this stay was still unacceptable. The carpets were filthy. After walking on them briefly, my pink socks were visibly dirty. More alarming, a roach crawled into my food carton while I was eating. This was unsanitary and disturbing. When I contacted the front desk to report the issue, the response was simply, “I can get you another room.” That did nothing to address the fact that my food had already been contaminated. The front desk experience overall was frustrating. Instead of clearly explaining where my room was or offering basic guidance, the staff member waited for me to ask questions, making check-in awkward and unwelcoming. There is also no elevator, which was not clearly communicated and is a serious inconvenience for anyone with luggage or mobility concerns. I chose this location assuming that, because it is in Lee’s Summit, it would be reasonably maintained. That assumption was wrong. Cleanliness and basic customer service were severely lacking. At checkout, the situation escalated further. The employee from the previous night apparently gave the manager a version of events before ever speaking to me. When I asked if he was the manager, he immediately began responding based on what he had already been told—without first asking me about my experience, including the roach incident. When I explained what happened from my perspective, he said, “That’s not what the employee said.” I replied that this felt like he was calling me a liar. At that point, the manager became hostile and told me to leave. He insisted he never called me a liar, yet showed no concern for the fact that a roach had crawled into my food and ruined my dinner. For clarity: I did not watch a roach crawl into my food and ignore it. I had just checked in and was carrying multiple bags, so I set my food down briefly. When I picked it up to eat, I noticed a roach moving inside the carton I was actively eating from. Being dismissed, talked over, and treated as the problem—rather than being shown concern over a serious sanitation issue—was unacceptable. I would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone. For this Roach motel to have the name Wyndham attached to to blows my mind. I just saw his reply again calling my a liar. So they had time to dig through the trash but not enough time to apologize. I purchased the room through Priceline refunds aren't easy to get when you buy through third party, but why should I have to!!! Clean you room, hire more polite staff! your roach motel cause me a bad experience and your only defense is I could have switched rooms after the I found a roach in my food. Wyndham has to do better!!!!!

Clean pool for the kids, waffles and chilling. Good stay.

Person at the front desk was great. Loved the complimentary hot chocolate. Clean and Quiet
