Motel 8 was very disappointing, and I would not recommend 8 to anyone to stay here. The reception staff were unhelpful, had poor communication skills, and showed little concern for guest safety, relying solely on cameras rather than providing proactive assistance. The hotel lacked basic facilities and proper maintenance: the blow dryer was broken and hazardous, the telephone didn’t work, the fridge was broken and had an odd smell, housekeeping wasn’t provided daily, and the laundry machines were out of order. The coffee was disappointing, and there was no breakfast or snacks available despite the revenue the hotel generates, maintenance and upkeep are clearly neglected. Staff were lazy, unprofessional, unfriendly, ungroomed and orders guests to help themselves when it's their job is in hospitality for a hotel environment, showing no effort to fix these issues. They allowed loud music late into the night on nearby public property, while fights and arguments occurred on hotel property at 2 am and in a trailer next to the hotel, creating an unsafe and disruptive environment. There was also a drunk female guest who was on probation and in a sobriety program, looking for ICE, who needed assistance, but the staff were unhelpful and even prevented her from getting help, despite her being confused about her room number. If Mr. Patel’s staff cannot address and coordinate with local enforcement or meet basic legal and regulatory requirements for operating a hotel, these are the evidence of poor and negligent management, and may even violate Washington labor and hotel regulations. On top of this, staff told guests they had to leave for no reason and could only return after 48 hours. Nationality makes no difference when management cannot properly take care of guests neither address the local business communities safety. Overall, the hotel was poorly managed and unsafe. I would totally fire the current staff and hire myself.
