As a regular BW customer, I booked my stay for a couple of nights for New Year's Eve, being convinced that Best Western is a logo that offers quality. I was totally wrong. This hotel is crap, the only 2 stars are for location. The room 503 must be closed and never offered for booking. Although they state that the room is thoroughly cleaned, it is simply not true. The the floor, pond bottom, on the window side of the bed was cleaned 10 years ago, grese and dirty. The fridge had some remaining food from a previous guest and last but not least: the bathroom was full of mold around the window as well as in the shower. The walls were covered with some kind of plastic tiles and a part of them were close to fall down. Not to mention the noises: you can hear the farts of all your neighbours and the best part is the elevator, which will wake you up everytime some one slaps the door. The worst hotel I've stayed in my life and the worst one in Germany so far. Stay away from it.

This somewhat older hotel was presumably created by converting several apartment buildings. The layout is very convoluted, with numerous doors to open and stairs to climb before reaching your upgraded room. What's supposed to be better about it than the one I booked is beyond me. It's unheated (it's winter, 0°C and below), and the furniture is very 70s style. Free water was available, but the first TV channel didn't work. The rooms are quiet, and the beds are comfortable. You had to get warm under the covers, as we couldn't get the heating to work. I can only recommend this hotel to very budget-conscious travelers. Its main advantage is its proximity to the main train station, which is within walking distance.

We were extremely dissatisfied with our stay at this hotel – neither with the condition of the rooms nor with the way the hotel manager treated us. Even the first rooms were unacceptable: dirty, stained carpet, worn furnishings, a loose electrical outlet in the bathroom, and heavily moldy grout in the shower. After complaining, we were given different rooms, but these also appeared run-down and neglected. We canceled the breakfast for the second day because it was already inadequate on the first morning (scrambled eggs with an unpleasant odor, sausage already curled). A refund of the money already paid was refused. Instead, we were sarcastically told that we had booked through Booking.com without breakfast – even though we had demonstrably booked breakfast separately on-site and paid for it in cash. Our impression: More energy is invested in justifications than in cleanliness and genuine guest satisfaction. We cannot recommend this hotel.
