So… how do I even start with this hotel? It’s a bit of a hit-and-miss situation, like ordering cendol and not knowing whether you’ll get extra gula Melaka or just ice. First off, the location is undeniably strategic. It sits right along the main road near the PLUS highway exit and on the way to Ipoh city centre, perfect for those who want minimal detours and maximum convenience. Bonus points for being close to shop lots selling the famous Tambun pomelo. You can literally check out and check in with a box of pomelos within minutes. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, which I always appreciate after a long drive. However, I couldn’t help but wish the front desk was a little more attentive and proactive. A small gesture like a complimentary room upgrade for long stays guests or a food voucher would have been a delightful touch. You know, the kind that makes you feel like a VIP even if you’re just there for a weekend escape. A little 5-star hospitality sparkle wouldn’t hurt. Now, the room; this is where things get impressive. For a 4-star rated hotel, the Suite Room exceeded expectations. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and very well maintained. The bed was soft and comfortable, complete with four good pillows (though my pillow standards are admittedly quite high because I treat pillows very seriously). The air-conditioning worked perfectly, and every corner, including the bathroom, was spotless. Honestly, I loved staying in the room so much that going out felt optional. Unfortunately, the café serving breakfast and lunch didn’t quite live up to the same standard. The breakfast spread was rather limited. There’s no egg station (though you can request specific egg dishes), and the coffee could definitely use an upgrade. Let’s just say it wakes you up… but not in the inspiring way. All in all, this hotel has tremendous potential to be a top-tier stay. The foundation is solid; great location, excellent rooms, and reasonable pricing, but a few service and F&B improvements could elevate it significantly. Would I return? For that comfortable suite at such a reasonable price? Absolutely. Just maybe after having my coffee elsewhere first 😉

The best service and easy to deal with. The toilets at the 10th floor event venue are beautiful and clean. The best LED screen.
