Tabist kiki HOTEL KYOTO Gojo Karasuma

There aren't many reviews of Korean accommodations, so I'm posting this. My goal was to find a place that was clean, had windows, and wasn't too shabby in a location. I chose this place because it had good reviews on Naver blog (there was only one review). Room: I wanted to stay on a high floor with a view of Tokyo Tower (I sent a separate message through Agoda), but I was disappointed to be assigned a lower floor. However, the room was clean (I have high standards for cleanliness). While it wasn't as clean as the photos in the blog reviews, it was spacious for a Japanese hotel. The window opened easily and had a screen. There were blinds, but since it faces south, I had to close them before bed to avoid the morning snow. There wasn't much to do in the room, so I just laid out my makeup on the bed and it was fine. The bathroom was clean, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Location: The location is good if you enjoy walking, but not so great if you don't. It's about a 20-minute walk from the main street. I took the bus and walked. The bus station I usually take is about a 5-minute walk, and the Jacheol Line is 5-10 minutes away, so it's convenient. (Pro tip: Exit 6 is where the Jacheol Line is. I think it's closer to Exit 3 than the accommodation.) Service: The female staff in the lobby were very friendly and always greeted me with a smile, which made me feel very welcome. Towels and pillowcases are changed daily (they give you one small and one large towel per day, so ask for more if you need more). City tax? I'm sharing this for reference, as I paid 700 yen for two days. I recommend it overall (for solo travelers, friends, couples, or family trips, I'd stay on the main street).

Stayed here for 4 nights. Great location, there’s a 7/11 outside of it and you could walk to the centre if you wanted to, if not it’s 1 stop away and the station is down the street. The room was clean, staff were friendly and the shower was perfect. It wasn’t until I decided to call for an iron and nobody from reception would answer so I had to go downstairs to get the iron myself. What’s the point of having a phone then. My room also wasn’t cleaned for the duration of my stay. There were 2 beds (stayed in a twin room), one bed was super comfortable but then I decided to sleep in the bed next to it since it hadn’t been used yet only to discover the bed was so hard and there was a really hard mat underneath the bedsheet, on top of the mattress which kinda grossed me out. Not sure what that was doing there and for what reason but I didn’t end up sleeping in that bed

I had a genuinely pleasant experience during my stay at this hotel. The location is perfect — quiet enough to relax, yet very accessible with trains, buses, and several konbini shops just a short walk away. The room was clean, comfortable, and great value for the price. The staff were consistently polite and helpful, which made the stay even better. Overall, everything from the environment to the service exceeded my expectations. I’m already planning to stay here again next year. Highly recommended!
