Taj Rishikesh Resort & Spa, Uttarakhand

This morning we left the Taj Rishikesh Resort and Spa with a heavy heart, sad to leave this unique place. Our stay was not only just relaxing and rejuvenating it was a truly spiritual and soul enriching experience that one craves for in today's hectic life. The Resort is of a modern architectural design that utilises all natural elements of stone and wood in its construction - harmonised with the surrounding forest. Superbly positioned down the mountain side nestled in a valley overlooking the magnificent mighty Ganga River, its waters blue crystal clear, clean and cool from the mountains, the Resort is truly breathtaking. Everything here exudes luxury, comfort, calm and natural beauty. The gardens wrapping around the pathways and luxury villas meandering down to the river are sublime sophistication. The restaurants serve amazing delicious local and international cuisine. The bar and pool overlook the Ganga allowing you to escape and take in the views of the surrounding mountains. Resort staff are all fantastic people nothing is too much trouble, their attention to detail and service is impeccable. Many cultural events such as live music, singing and select local cuisine demonstrations enhance an already incredible atmosphere. The Ganga Aarti a religious ceremony on the river banks at around 5:30pm each day touches one's heart and soul. Our special thanks to Mr Virendra Bhatt, Restaurants Director, for making us feel so welcome, in particular for taking care of us on the occasion/special dinner marking our 32nd anniversary. Special thanks for your hositality and cooking tips from Director of Cuisine, Rakesh. Thank you also Akshay, Ankit and Nikita for your special attention making our stay so special. The check-in was smooth and easy thanks to Anurag. I can't say enough about the Taj Rishikesh Resort and Spa you need to experience this amazing unique place for yourself - it leaves something special in your heart.

Extremely disappointed with the data security standards at Taj Rishikesh. Despite calling immediately after checkout and being assured that my Netflix account had been logged out, it remained active on their device for an entire month and was used by others. For a premium brand like Taj, this kind of negligence and casual response from management is shocking. Trust and privacy are non-negotiable in luxury hospitality — and sadly, this experience broke that trust.

Located in Singtali, the layout is excellent with access to the Ganga ( and the Arti). Given the reclusive location, plenty of activities to keep you occupied. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Upkeep is good all through esp the heated pool. Dinner at the multi chains restaurant carries flavour and goodportions. Few issues which bring down the star - breakfast is of average taste and struggles with quick hot options. Tea and coffee were not good. High tea has no meat options. Lift loses power and got me stuck with no ability to connect to outside world or a switch to talk to an operator - unacceptable. Monkeys are troublesome but can be managed.
