Taksim 52 Hotel

The worst possible experience, a nightmare hotel, an owner who refused to give us our money back for the difference in days when we wanted to leave, who blocked another additional amount from our account, the windows have no handles, there is no shower door, the room smells of cigarette smoke, he lost us a whole day of accommodation and talked us out of it, when we called the police he said something different than what happened. DO NOT STAY THEY ARE SCAMMERS

On booking.com there were completly different photos from the reality at wich we arrived. We wanted to stay only one night then go on our way because I havent seen such a horrible hotel camera and wanted to leave on the second day before the time limit where we would then need to pay for the second night. We wanted to only pay one night even though it was a shameful experience on their behalf and keep the rest of the money (not asking for compensation for fake photos on the website and so on) and they wanted us to pay 2 nigths plus some weird tax of 90€ that they said "It's final" and said that we cannot chose to not pay this 90€ tax. We were really mad and against this absurd requests! Also we had our day ruined because they wanted to drag us as long as possible until we would abandon by choice and leave, so they keep the money and wont get anything bad in return. We ended up calling the police and the owner to come, the owner (the guy we did the check in with the night before. Also to be noted that they work in shifts and there isnt the same guy at the reception everytime and in this case the night before he was at reception but on this day, 15.02.2026 he wasnt). The owner came first then wanted to leave because as he said "I'm not required to stay here". We managed to keep him at the hotel and then the police arrived. We talked to the police and we came to the conclusion for them to pay us some of our money not the money we wanted to get wich was the money back minus the 1 night we spent because we are good people and fair and decided to pay the night even if they didnt deserve any money. They wanted to charge us more money but in the end we managed with the police to give us a bare minimum (we werent pleased with). And plus we wanted to make a police report for theft, fake advertisement and against the owner for not making this right but we were told we either chose the money or stay another 6 hours at the police station (note that it was already late like 19:00) so we chose the money because this was already very stressful (even if we werent pleased with the amount) and lost an entire day. And an update! everything should have been sorted out with the police but now we have gotten a message from booking.com and it said the owner said that we didnt show up at the hotel and that we need to pay a fee because of this. (Also booking.com didnt help us at all we called 3 operators from them wich tried calling the reception but they didnt answer and they gave complaints and an email to the owner guy (the owner somehow only responded to messages and emails) The first operator made complaints for the fake photos and that they dont match the actual location. The second operator told us to not leave until we get our money and the third operator told us that we should resolve with the reception and that we can leave if we want. Also we asked the operator if they will give this hotel any penalties or remove it from the site but they did not give us an answer. At this stage we are very disapointed in booking.com and that they didnt consider our safety and didnt do anything about the deal but ask us to pay the guy money because we "did not show up at the location". Plus when we called police with the current receptionist that was at the shift, while on call with police he called the owner guy and then he started yelling at the owner guy through the phone in turkish. This hotel has mold and stains on walls, bedsheets, blankets, towels and so on. Also the window in the bedroom and kitchen couldnt be closed they didnt even have a handle on them!!! The window has holes in it and in the bathroom the shower is missing a sliding door, and you can actually see the sewer because it isnt covered. Also the location its ok but the road is very thight and has a elevated terrain (our taxi couldnt climb the hill and kept sliding, eventualy we got it and they told us we took a different root). And as well the hotel we booked was called "Otantik Taksim Hotel" and not "Taksim 52 Hotel" that was written in front of this misterious hotel...

The worst experience in a hotel ever. Rooms are dirty. Holes in windows, AC not working. We’ve been freezing!!! There was dirty blanket in a wardrobe but it didn’t help at all No internet!!! Dirty sheets. Dirty toilet +hot water +good location, but you have to have climbing experience coz there are hills nearby the hotel +The view from the terrace is very good, but you have to hold the door coz it’s not closing and if you don’t it would fly away We paid for 6 nights but were bagging to let us go after 1st night. Coz we didn’t sleep as there were super cold and we were not able to work coz of no internet. The administration said we were lying when we tried to change the booking dates. After few hours of talk he kept 100€ for himself and let us go Horrible experience. Avoid
