My recent stay at Taurus Sarovar Portico, New Delhi, was one of the most disappointing and uncomfortable hotel experiences I have ever had, especially considering I was traveling with my family. Choosing this property was, without exaggeration, a serious mistake. Check-In Experience The check-in process alone set the tone for everything that followed. It took over 30 minutes, with no sense of urgency or efficiency from the staff. The atmosphere in the lobby felt unsettling for a family stay, with the majority of guests appearing to be lone business travelers. The environment lacked the comfort, warmth, and professionalism one expects from a reputable hotel. Room Condition Unacceptable on Every Level The room assigned to us was far below basic hospitality standards: • The room was not clean on arrival. • The bed linen appeared dirty and did not look freshly replaced. • The washroom had an extremely unpleasant odor, as though it had not been cleaned or maintained for a long time. • The floors felt sticky, dusty, and unhygienic, making it impossible to walk barefoot. • The air-conditioning did not function, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable. • Despite having windows, they were fully blacked out, giving the room a claustrophobic, closed-in feel. When we requested a room change, we were informed that all rooms are the same, which is unacceptable for a property in this category. • An extra bed that we had paid for in advance was only provided after repeated reminders and a frustrating five-hour delay, finally arriving at 11 PM. For a hotel operating under a recognized brand, the condition of this room was simply indefensible. Food & Service Severely Below Standard Our dining experience was just as disappointing: • The food quality was extremely poor. Except for the manchow soup, nothing came close to acceptable. • Vegetarian dishes were unpleasantly sweet, to the point of being inedible. • The chicken served was undercooked, raising serious concerns about food safety. • A simple soup took 25 minutes, and the remaining items required an additional 25 minutes or more. This level of service and quality is not just inefficient it is completely unacceptable for a hotel positioned near an international airport. Staff Interaction While some staff members were polite on the surface, the overall service lacked sincerity, consistency, and professionalism. For a family stay, the environment felt neither comfortable nor trustworthy. My Final Decision The experience was so poor that I decided to check out early, and it was the best decision I made. Thankfully, I had a reservation at a nearby hotel for the remainder of my trip a stark and refreshing contrast to what I experienced here. Final Recommendation Based on my stay, I strongly advise against choosing this hotel, especially for families or anyone expecting comfort, cleanliness, and professional hospitality. The concerns reflected in many reviews are not exaggerated I read them and still took a chance. I sincerely recommend that others do not repeat this mistake. This was an extremely disappointing stay, and I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because the current state of this property is absolutely not acceptable for guests who expect even the most basic hospitality standards.

Don't book here based on the 4-star ratings. We booked this hotel a day before our flight to relax and get some good sleep, but it was a terrible experience. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. It was unhygienic, with dust, mold, and cobwebs everywhere. The customer service was below average. We asked for extra bedding and paid for it, but when we checked in, they just gave us a mattress on the floor. The bedding wasn't even made when we asked for a large bed. There was a smoke smell everywhere in the corridor and room itself. The bed was so small you couldn't even fit on it. Worst experience ever. Seriously, don't book here.

The bedsheets had an unpleasant odor, the bathroom faucets were broken, the furniture appeared worn-out, and there was no safety lock inside the room. Overall, the hygiene and maintenance standards were far below expectations. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and improves the quality of service for future guests.
