The Ameswell Hotel

Wonderful staff, atmosphere is vibrant and lots of quiet spaces to relax, a wonderful cafe with delicious lattes and matchas etc and a full restaurant. A beautiful quaint NASA library area with comfy couches to relax in as well as another space for solo or group to hang out in that has a space theme. There are amazing couches and Adirondack chairs outside alongside a fire pit. Great place to hang out, bring your drink, relax and read a book. Just such a great place. Throughout the hotel the staff are top notch and always with a smile and willing to help. The cleaning staff do an immaculate job with the rooms and hallways and are always willing to help. I live in NY and whenever I'm in California to visit my daughter in Stanford University, the Ameswell is where I stay. I so highly recommend. The experience is unmatched.

I stayed at the Ameswell Hotel in Room 354 from February 17–20 and had a very concerning experience that the hotel has completely ignored. On the morning of February 18, before leaving the room, I intentionally placed my gold bracelet in the pocket of a pair of pants and set the pants on top of my suitcase so I would remember exactly where it was. When I went to retrieve the bracelet on the morning of February 20, it was gone. I carefully unpacked and checked every item in my suitcase to make sure it hadn’t slipped out, but the bracelet had completely disappeared. The only time anyone else had access to the room was during housekeeping service on February 18 or 19. I reported the missing item to the front desk when I checked out and also sent a detailed email to hotel management explaining what happened. No one ever responded. No follow-up. No acknowledgment. No indication that anyone even looked into it. What is most concerning is not only the missing item, but the complete lack of accountability or even basic guest service after the report was made. Any reputable hotel should at minimum review housekeeping access logs or speak with the staff who serviced the room. Instead, my report appears to have been ignored entirely. If management had simply acknowledged the situation or indicated they would review it internally, that would have gone a long way. The total silence suggests guest concerns about missing property are not taken seriously here. Travelers should be aware that if something goes missing from your room at the Ameswell Hotel, you may not receive any response from management at all. Given the circumstances, I hope the hotel reviews housekeeping access records for Room 354 during those dates.

Gas chicken tenders. Free sparkling water. Need I say more? Rooms are pretty cheap as long as there are no local work events, yet rooms are super nice inside, and the decor all over the place is also great. Every week, a singer comes downstairs to perform, and staff have always been nice. I personally came as I was moving and stayed here for a week. Also great gym.
