We spent 7 nights there. It was the most unpleasant and disagreeable stay we've ever had in Bali (we've been there over 25 times in various hotels). The staff's friendliness was forced. They often walked past guests without even looking at them. The breakfast room was very noisy. An employee who should have known us since the first day (she was always going around announcing the buffet's opening hours) asked me on the last day if this was our first time in the breakfast room! We had problems with the safe twice in one day (in the morning it wouldn't close, and it took an hour for the technician to arrive, during which time we couldn't leave the room with the safe open. In the evening it wouldn't open and it beeped continuously). The safe was replaced after an unsuccessful repair attempt. As an apology, we received a card from the lady in red. On the second-to-last day, there was a wedding reception. They started setting up the tent by the pool in the morning (loud and very disruptive), with music rehearsals followed by live music until 10 pm. We had room 6138 near the pool and the marquee. It wasn't relaxing at all. The room wasn't well insulated; you could hear conversations and children screaming in the hallway very early in the morning. On the day of departure, I almost stepped on a rather long queue on my way to reception. The employee who happened to be nearby and saw the queue just said "Snake" and kept walking. At check-out, the lady didn't even bother to ask how our stay had been. When I mentioned that I had almost stepped on a queue, her response was that it's normal to have queues in a tropical country. I also complained about the noise from the wedding celebration and pointed out that the hotel should have informed us about the noise at the time of booking or check-in. Her response was that if we had complained, they would have given us a different room. On the positive side, the Bai Yun restaurant had very good quality food and friendly staff. But you can visit Bai Yun without being a guest at the Kempinski.

Heavy smell of humidity (mold) in the room. Strange management behavior after my friend had an accident because of reckless safety measures from the hotels side... Doesn't feel like a high level, 5 star hotel... Pity.
