Terrible

The only good thing about the place is the location. The staff is very unfriendly and seems unmotivated. In the restaurant you wait ages for the food and it was served cold. The beer also ran out. The selection of alcoholic drinks is very limited and the quality is terrible. For the money it is simply a scam. Definitely not worth staying here.

Beautiful hotel but with some major issues: - hotel is located on a very steep hill, you have to be very confident in your motorbike and driving skills - it’s pretty far off any restaurants/bars/stores, you absolutely can not walk anywhere. - taking a taxi ist very expensive on koh tao especially in comparison to other places (for example koh samui) - there is a shuttle service but you have to book pretty early to get a spot + the last shuttle from sairee beach/town back to the hotel leaves at 7:30pm. we could barely have dinner and then hurry to get back to the meeting point. if they drove more regularly or at least till later in the evening that would be a great improvement. - our room had an incredible view but getting there was intense. I love walking and I don’t mind some steps but there were an insane amount of steps. it took us almost 10minutes to get to our room (we are under 30) those poor employees had to carry our suitcases up there. if you have any health issues at all this is not for you. our friends stayed here with us and we have no idea where their room was even at cause it was so far away from ours. - the steps would have maybe been bearable if the room was cool at arrival but it seems the air conditioning is only working when you plug your keycard in upon entry. i understand wanting to save money/energy but please at least cool the room down a bit throughout the day. thailand is already hot (which is great) then you have to walk up the hill for 5-10 minutes to then arrive in an extremely hot room cause the air conditioning was off all day. and no we couldn’t get a second room key. - also no AC at the reception and the reception is only sometimes staffed. so if you wait at reception you will be very hot. we only had to be there for 15-20minutes but the employees had to deal with this for way longer. - depending on which of the 2 hotels (beach club haaditien/ haaditien beach resort, they are in one area/property) you stay in, you can only use some of the pools even though they did show the other pool on booking.com. as well. the pool right next to the breakfast area is very nice but has very limited space. the other one that’s close to the beach you are not allowed to use and the third one wasa lot further away from the beach plus they were having diving lessons there as well. I don’t know if the same applies if you book the other hotel. - the restaurant is pretty expensive for thailand. if the food was better priced it would make the stay at this hotel a lot more convenient. we would have probably eaten at the hotel restaurant half the time instead of hurrying to have dinner in town. - breakfast feels very much like being at camp, but at the end that’s the least of the issues -no room service (at least we knew that in advance) -my luggage got ruined on the way to the hotel or back to the pier. -the room didn’t smell very nice and wasn’t very clean either -AC in the room not well placed if the Beach Resort allows guests to use all the pools maybe we will book there next time. cause at least with some of their beach villas you don’t have to walk so far. so the hot room wouldn’t be as bad. plus I hope they fix the issue with the coffee at breakfast cause it’s not fun to wait in line 20 minutes for a coffee when on vacation. it seems like whoever manages this hotel doesn’t care about the people. not the guests and not their own staff. the employees had to wear dark long sleeves that seemed very hot. it feels like the staff is not being treated very well cause everywhere else we went in thailand the staff was way more friendly and motivated. unfortunately this island doesn’t offer a lot of hotels in this category which is probably why they get away with very limited service. The island is incredible and beautiful tho.
