The Box House Hotel

The atmosphere was very warm as soon as you walk in the building. Beautiful refinished wide wooden floors. The artwork was sublime. There were vintage pieces placed tastefully throughout the whole hotel, including the rooms: from victrolas to vintage books. The staff was accommodating, friendly and warm. Most of all, Box House Hotel was very clean. My wife and I will return.

This hotel is absolutely perfect in every single way and when you think of new york you think I'm going to get a tiny hotel room absolutely not the case here we rented 2 rooms the first one had a separate room upstairs with a closet and a bed you can sleep in forever with a fluffy feather blanket, a kitchen with literally everything you need to cook with (Pans, silverware, cups, microwave thats also a oven, sink and dishwasher, ect.) so you don't have to break the bank buying food and it's like 2 min walk to little supermarket, a living room area with a huge pull out couch that can fit 2 people comfortably squishy cushions I couldn't decide where I wanted to sleep lol both had tvs, the bathroom was spotless with amazing water pressure I'm shower with bath tub and shampoo conditioner and body wash with essential oils, the ac and heat worked perfectly, the patio was so cute with a bench and table and it's own light and a screen door in case you want to let some of the cool air in. The 2cd room was more of the basic room with the one bed that was still huge and squishy but firm nice big shower with tub as well but also had little sitting ledge. Table and big TV and of course spotless definitely enough room for a couple. There was also so much art in the bedroom and all throughout the hotel, books in the beautiful lobby with couches and chairs to read if you would like, the gym is amazing has tons of equipment to give you a nice workout. The only thing was parking wasn't good but your in New York and I'm from FL so it was tough for me but they helped me find a garage close by very expensive though but honestly the hotel makes up for it lol. The service here is the BEST IVE EVER HAD AND IVE HAD ALLOT! Every single person I came in contact with was amazing the maids made sure we had anything we needed and didn't make us feel like we was a bother like some do, the people at the desk helped us in multiple situations like how to plan our commute to timesquare perfectly and many other things, they even have a gentleman who opens the door for you and will help you with your luggage if needed not to mention everyone was dressed so fancy and sophisticated and every single person always had a smile on their face and was ready to help in anyway possible. I'm telling you this is definitely the hotel you want to stay at oh I forgot to mention it is right next to a bridge you can walk up the steps and get a view of the city that will blow your mind away! Trust me when I say look no further you found the right one!

Very disappointing stay. Our reservation modification was confirmed through Booking.com but was incorrectly recorded by the hotel, and we were left waiting over an hour at check-in. The room condition was unacceptable (poor cleanliness, broken items, musty smell) and did not match the room we had originally booked. Breakfast regularly opened late, and the female staff at reception and breakfast were rude, impolite, and unprofessional — whereas the male staff members were more helpful and solution-oriented. Overall, a stressful experience with a level of service far below basic hospitality standards.
