We came here expecting a peaceful holiday and instead left feeling violated and traumatized. The hotel manager was racist, aggressive, and repeatedly inappropriate with minors. He entered private spaces without permission and harassed women. I regret staying here and urge others to avoid this hotel entirely.

This hotel was an absolute nightmare because of the manager’s behavior. He showed clear discrimination toward Asian guests and repeatedly violated our privacy. He entered our room without permission, touched a minor while they were showering, and lingered in an extremely inappropriate way. He also verbally abused women and made unwanted physical contact. We felt unsafe the entire time. I am writing this to warn others: this hotel is not safe. The manager behaved in a predatory and racist manner, especially toward Asian guests. He opened doors without consent, stared at minors, and touched children in ways that made everyone deeply uncomfortable. Several family members are still emotionally affected by what happened. Our stay was ruined by the hotel manager’s disturbing actions. He entered private spaces without authorization, touched a child while they were vulnerable, and showed repeated inappropriate interest in minors. He also harassed female guests verbally and physically. This behavior is unacceptable and should be investigated immediately. What we experienced at this hotel was frightening. He was openly hostile and racist toward Asian guests and used offensive language toward women. This was not just poor service — it was a serious safety issue. I have never encountered such unprofessional and disturbing conduct in any hotel. The manager crossed every boundary by entering a bathroom while a minor was showering and touching them. He stared at children, touched toddlers, and harassed women. No family should ever be exposed to this kind of behavior. This hotel failed to protect its guests. My younger sibling was left traumatized after experiencing his behavior. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt targeted and unsafe. The manager’s racist behavior toward Asian guests was clear, and his actions toward children were deeply concerning. I am writing this review following a very disappointing experience at the Capital Hotel in Sydney on 4 January at approximately 1:45 pm. I had gifted my parents a two-night stay at the hotel. When my elderly parents attempted to check in, they were unable to do so because the booking was under my name. To resolve this quickly, I called my dad and asked if I could speak directly with the Front Desk staff member to receive clear instructions on what was required. The staff member refused outright to speak with me, repeatedly stating that he “couldn’t talk” to me and instructing us to “contact the third party (Agoda)” through which the booking was made. This was particularly upsetting as my parents are elderly and English is their second language. They were clearly struggling to communicate and understand what was being asked of them. I was not asking for special treatment, only to discuss alternatives, especially given it was a Sunday and resolving the issue through a third party could take hours. Unfortunately, the staff member made no effort to assist, did not explain that a message could be sent via the Agoda app, and showed a complete lack of empathy. The interaction felt dismissive and unnecessarily confrontational, and his attitude toward my parents came across as insensitive and discriminatory. There is no excuse for refusing to assist elderly guests who are visibly struggling, particularly when a simple walk-through could have resolved the issue. I was on the phone with Agoda from 1:47 pm, trying to work around the changes. At 2:15 pm, my husband called the hotel and spoke with a lovely staff member who calmly walked us through the solution. She said all they actually need is an authorisation from me and this can be done via the Agoda app. It was that quick and simple. In a few minutes I sent the authorisation and she was able to check in my parents who were standing there the whole time at the check-in desk. I sincerely hope her efforts are recognised by management. She demonstrated genuine customer service and went above and beyond.
