⭐☆☆☆☆ One Star Review Unfortunately, our stay at the Golden Hotel in Golden, Colorado was very disappointing. Upon arrival, the elevator was not working, and we were assigned a room on the third floor. There was no assistance offered to help with luggage, which made check-in difficult. The next morning, we woke up to find there was no hot water—and it remained out for the rest of the day. It later became apparent that the hotel is undergoing renovations, something that was never disclosed prior to completing our booking. Had we been informed, we would have appreciated the opportunity to choose a different hotel. In addition, the hotel’s boiler also went out, which affected the restaurant during breakfast. The dining area was extremely cold, and the staff was assisting guests with blankets while they ate. To add context, Golden had just experienced its first snow of the 2026 season during our stay. Given these conditions, I can only imagine how challenging it would be to stay here during a full winter storm or blizzard. If you are planning to stay at the Golden Hotel during the winter, I strongly recommend asking the staff about the status of renovations and essential services before booking. Cold showers and lack of basic accommodations are not what you expect when staying at a hotel.

The front desk staff were very efficient and friendly. A pleasure. The hotel itself is rather dated however. Bathroom needs renovating and overall furniture could use updating as well.
