The Grace Hotel

The hotel was centrally located next to the shopping streets. The rooms were clean and practical. The service was friendly. The breakfast was just OK.

It was nice overall, but I probably would not stay here again. The receptionist, Thy, was genuinely lovely at check in and went above and beyond to help us get good value and work out the sleeping arrangements, which I really appreciated. The location is excellent, with great nearby dining and pub options. The building itself is beautiful, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were generally very clean, although we did find someone else’s underwear left behind, which was disappointing. Complimentary drinks were a nice touch, but they were restocked at 9am, which felt like an odd choice. One morning at around 9am there was a lot of noise from housekeeping in the neighbouring room, including furniture being moved. Thin walls may have amplified this, but it was still disruptive. We also had dirty glassware that was never replaced during our six day stay, and empty tissue boxes were not restocked. The rainforest shower did not work properly, as the temperature controls were faulty, and the air conditioning stayed very cold regardless of the setting. Chromecast was unavailable because another guest was already connected to the TV, and there did not seem to be a way to disconnect them. We ordered room service and the food was fine. On one occasion we ordered from the dinner menu before the 8:30pm cutoff, but later received a call saying the order had not been put through, so we had to order from the late snack menu instead. This was not a major issue, and they kindly included a complimentary dessert, which was a thoughtful gesture. The pool and gym facilities were limited and underwhelming. While the hotel looks impressive and has some strong points, I felt the reviews oversell it as a state of the art experience. In reality, it felt quite average

We stayed at The Grace Sydney while visiting from Melbourne and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The location is honestly one of the best, close to everything making it so easy to explore the city without needing to travel far. The complimentary drinks offered daily were a lovely touch and made us feel really looked after. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our family after a long journey. Parking was also available on site at $65 per day, which was very convenient and stress free for us. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service from Tahreem Aidrus, the duty manager. After a 9 hour drive from Melbourne, she welcomed us with such warmth, kindness, and professionalism. She genuinely made me and my family feel so welcome and completely turned our long, tiring day into a positive and memorable one. She is one of the most beautiful, polite, and amazing workers we have ever come across. Thank you so much. Overall, The Grace Sydney exceeded our expectations, and the outstanding customer service alone is reason enough to return. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sydney.
