The Roosevelt is one of my favorite spots in Hollywood. Overflowing with character and thebspecter of Charlie Cahplin. I last visited for Felix and that was an absolute blast - one of LA's finer art fairs.

Keep reading for the GHOST: I have stayed here a few times as it is a preferred hotel for my employer and swimming in the Hockney pool was a lifelong dream even before I was in my current job. Everything about it is epic from the service, free coffee in the restaurant, knowledge of the staff on the history, the rooms are well appointed with great views, the bowling bar is lots of fun, brunch is great by the pool - I have returned and look forward to coming back. It is lux but unpretentious. The one niggle is the pool being shut so often for shoots. On my last day of my last visit I randomly saw a ghost - this has NEVER happened to me and I had no idea nor interest in this side of the history or reputation of the hotel. I was on the 9th floor and in the middle of day light saw a man hurry through my room, walk through my wardrobe like he was in a rush. He was wearing a long coat over a suit and black shoes with dark slicked back hair - he looked vintage and shot me a cursory and slightly withering look (thanks mate!) I would love to know if any other guests have experienced this particular person. I know a lot of ghost hunter people specifically book this hotel to spot them but I wonder as I didn't expect this or research it - it is why I saw something.
