The Lancaster Motel

My daughter and I were here for a wedding. Communication left a lot to be desired. It was nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone and contact was via text. I requested an early check in due to our travel and I was allowed to check in early which was very nice. We were told it’s an old property and to let the water run a few minutes to get hot. I expected 5 or so minutes but it’s more like 20. I had to take an ice cold shower the first night. When I reached out to Ruby, she was not very pleasant but she was on her lunch break and not near by. The beds are extremely comfortable, room is large but note the bathrooms are very tiny. Part of a quaint historical property. There is no coffee pot or hair dryer which is odd. One of the drawing factors was the Rose Compass Lounge however it was closed to renovations. It would have been nice to be told that ahead of time. My confirmation email the day before check in indicated it was open. It looks like a lot of work is being performed but it would be nice if they would address simple things like better communication and necessary items in the rooms. The outdoor social area is just some random furniture in the middle of the parking lot. I would stay here again but I suggest anyone planning a trip be sure to ask specific questions. Location is wonderful and is within walking distance of most everything.

We stayed here while the Lancaster fair was going on. Ruby had mentioned there would be no cable or internet while we are staying there due to them selling the place. Which at the time we had no choice but to stay there as everything else was booked. And we lived over an hour away from Lancaster. So we stayed. Got there and checked in no one was at front desk had to call. I had received not one but two emails after the fact of being told there was no WiFi saying that there was WiFi. So I had called the number I had and Ruby was nothing but rude. Giving me attitude telling me she had already told me that there was no cable or WiFi I told her I received two emails and she told me I didn’t. (I have the proof and I did send the email I got to her after) then my son wanted to take a bath but I ran the water for a good 3/4 minutes and no hot water was coming out. I tried it a few times and tried to call as he started to cry. She was once again very rude and said “honey u are at the end of the building and need to let it run for 5 minutes I ended up hanging up on her. No reason to be rude. And I had ran the water for 8 minutes before it started to get hot. The beds were very uncomfortable. The floors were disgusting. The fridge wasn’t even cleaned. There was some type of food stain in it. Gross Cable and WiFi should have still been apart of the room since we paid full price and no discount. If it was sold those things should have been shut down at the end of closing of the sale. Not while people are staying there. Not right Even if she didn’t sell that place I would never stay there again. She needs an attitude adjustment .

Left us standing outside for 20 mins . No one would answer the door to check us in. Called and they texted “we will call you back” and never did
