Great little pub and hotel in Shrewsbury. Having stayed at multiple places in and around the town this is by far the best and most relaxing The staff are fantastic and very helpful

Review for *restaurant only* (I did not stay here!) I cannot fault the staff or atmosphere whatsoever (they were lovely!) but the food was not good (apparently it's a new menu). We had many dishes and disliked them all - I adore cooking and have many friends who are chefs, so know the importance of adequately trialling your menu beforehand and making sure the flavours are balanced and dishes well varied. It just doesn't feel like they did that here - in each dish the flavouring felt "off", components did not complement each other, there was nothing with moisture to combat how dry most of it was and rarely was it served with vegetables so it just felt unhealthy. We overheard another table saying similar things. Sorry to say but for little more than we paid you can eat a three course meal with light bites in-between at a Michelin restaurant not far (The Walrus)! I would've expected, if it were a new menu (they said it was the first day of it), that our feedback would be sought, but we were not asked. That was a shame! I hope they're able to seek more opinions before settling on the menu for good.
