The Lodge at Santa Fe

We stayed at Hotel Glorieta for a girls weekend and had such a great experience. I really love the new branding and refreshed direction the hotel is going in. It has a lively, welcoming vibe that made our stay feel really fun. The Lady Dove Lounge staff was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and warm, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting. The food and drinks were great too, which made it such an easy place to sit, talk, and enjoy the night. We had a wonderful stay and I would definitely come back. Such a great spot for a girls trip.

Our visit was in Sept 2025. If you are considering a stay at the Hotel Glorieta in Santa Fe, your experience will likely depend entirely on which door your key opens. This property is currently a "tale of two hotels," caught in the middle of an ambitious transformation that hasn't quite reached every corner of the grounds yet. The First Impression: A Modern Face-Lift The main building is clearly the pride of the property. Based on what we saw, the common areas and the lobby have been completely updated with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that feels much more in line with Santa Fe’s upscale hospitality scene. It’s bright, clean, and gives off the impression of a polished, boutique experience. If you spend all your time in the lounge or the redesigned public spaces, you’d think the hotel was a brand-new gem. The Reality: The "Old" Rooms However, there is a stark contrast once you move away from the main hub. The hotel is still very much a "work in progress," and many of the guest rooms haven't received the memo yet. Wear and Tear: The older rooms are in pretty bad shape. We noticed significant scuffing on the walls, frayed carpeting, and furniture that looks "beat up" from years of heavy use. Maintenance Issues: Beyond just aesthetic wear, these rooms feel dated in a way that goes past "vintage charm" and lands squarely in "deferred maintenance." From sluggish plumbing to lackluster lighting, the gap in quality between the main building and these older quarters is jarring. Atmosphere: While the main building feels revitalized, the older wings feel somewhat neglected and dim, lacking the crispness you expect when paying Santa Fe prices. Main Lobby & Hub: Excellent. Modern, stylish, and fully renovated. Older Guest Rooms: Poor. Beat up, dated, and in need of attention. Staff & Service: Helpful. They seem aware of the transition and do their best to accommodate. Location: Convenient. A good base for exploring, provided you get a "good" room. The Verdict The Hotel Glorieta is clearly trying to elevate its status, and the work done on the main building is genuinely impressive. However, until the renovation is finished across the board, staying here is a bit of a gamble. If you book here, request a renovated room in the main building or confirm that you aren't being placed in one of the older wings. Until the outdated rooms are brought up to the standard of the lobby, it’s hard to give this property a full recommendation for the price point.
