Think twice before booking here. I canceled my rooms properly and on time, yet still ended up charged. Then made to feel as though the hotel’s own system issues were somehow my fault. After booking 2 rooms online, the hotel sent me ONE itinerary confirmation email that included TWO room confirmations, all grouped under the same itinerary number. Naturally, I assumed (as any reasonable person would) that both rooms were tied together under that itinerary. Unfortunately, we had to postpone our trip to Savannah. More than 72 hours before check-in, I called to cancel both rooms, fully within the hotel’s own cancellation policy. I provided the agent with the itinerary number and both guest names, and the cancellation was accepted without any indication that additional steps were required. At no point was I told that their system needed a separate process to cancel the second room. Had I been informed, I would have provided whatever was needed. Instead, I was left believing both rooms were properly canceled. Days later, I discovered that the hotel only canceled one room and then charged my father’s credit card for the other room. When I contacted them, instead of fixing their mistake, the Guest Services Manager blamed me for not knowing their internal reservation quirks, even though they were the ones who combined both reservations into one itinerary email to begin with. Let me be clear: - I canceled on time (over 72 hours in advance). - I provided all the information they asked for. - Their system and their staff caused the confusion. - And they still kept the money. Between the lack of transparency, the dismissive responses, and the unwillingness to take responsibility for their own errors, I cannot recommend The Marshall House to anyone. If you stay here, double-check everything, get every detail in writing, and be prepared for none of that to matter. Because you will still have to fight charges even when you’ve followed their policies exactly.

This hotel is perfectly located. The staff were very accommodating and attentive. Room was very nice but the pillows were hard to me.|The evening wine, cheese and entertainment was lovely. Breakfast was adequate not over the top. My only complaint about breakfast was it was never really hot. But otherwise great place
