The MG Villa & SPA

Nice rooms but very poor communication and hidden costs. We were in contact for weeks before about booking boat tickets through the hotel and they ignored us and never booked the boat. Upon checkout, we were charged for certain things we had used in the room. These were things that were not told to us when we checked in which was very disappointing.

Beautiful hotel with spacious bungalows and bathroom with exterior shower, very stylish! Loved it. The swimming pool is great big clean and with sun beds. The staff very helpful with all our request and helped to books excursions and ferry tickets. The restaurant had delicious Indian kitchen, breakfast included was very good too. Thanks a lot for a lovely stay.

I don't usually write these types of reviews, but since it was the reviews that made me choose this hotel, I feel compelled to. I seriously can't understand a single positive review because the only good thing about this hotel is the pool. I also have a perfect understanding of where I am and wouldn't care about any of the points I'm going to point out if I had paid a much lower price than what we paid. Cleanliness: non-existent! None! It seems the room was never cleaned. I'll leave some photos that speak for themselves. The bedroom carpet is full of dead animals and even had feces! The bathroom is filthy. They don't clean your room during your entire stay (they just make your bed), nor do they change your towels. Regarding towels, they only provide two bath towels. They don't provide face or hand towels. The hair you'll see in the shower drain was already there! 🫣 Room: Be prepared to sleep in a room with tons of holes in the walls, allowing all kinds of bugs and daylight to enter. Noise: You won't be able to sleep for the entire duration of your stay. There's no insulation whatsoever, and the hotel is right across from a main road, so you'll hear everything: motorcycles, cars, roosters, dogs, people walking and talking, music from the hotel restaurant! Be prepared to not sleep because it's truly impossible. We were even lucky enough to have a gecko in the room that we never managed to find, so it spent the night making noise. Pool: The pool is quite large and the water is incredible, but the deck is completely dilapidated, even exposed nails. In short: it looks like an abandoned hotel; they don't maintain anything. I don't recommend the hotel to anyone.
