Disappointed and Misled – Not Worth the Stay We booked our stay here under the impression that the room had been newly renovated, as advertised. Unfortunately, the only thing remotely “new” in the room was a wardrobe — everything else felt straight out of the 1980s. The decor is tired, outdated, and in desperate need of a proper refurbishment. Upon check-in, we were immediately hit with an overpowering smell of sewer in the room. We raised this with hotel staff, and while a maintenance person came and replaced a blocked catcher in the shower, the smell persisted throughout our stay. We asked to be moved but were told that due to the Bathurst weekend, the hotel was fully booked and no alternative rooms were available. To make matters worse, the bathroom flooded every time we used the shower — a clear sign of poor plumbing and neglect. It made basic use of the bathroom incredibly inconvenient and unhygienic. Although this is a budget-friendly motel as advertised, we would expect that adequate facilities and service would still be a given — at the very least meeting Australian standards. Sadly, that was not the case here. What added to our frustration was the management’s complete lack of concern or accountability. There was no apology, no compensation, and no effort to make things right after what was clearly a subpar experience. As you can imagine, we won’t be staying here again or recommending this place to anyone. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.
