The Montreal Beach Resort is my (our) favorite spot in Cape May! Since 1995, I have stayed in various rental houses or other hotels in Cape May City; Cape May Point; and North Cape May. Hands down, The MBR is the best! Every August since 2017, my husband and I come in for a 15-day stay at The MBR over the Labor Day holiday. Some years, we've come in for a second and separate stay earlier in the season. We've never been disappointed with our visits. The entire hotel staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful! We always look forward to seeing these folks upon our arrival! Our room(s) have always been well attended - clean, neat and comfortable with beautiful views of the ocean! The beach club is a nice amenity providing an easy trip to the beach for the day! The swimming pool is a wonderful option for a day off the beach! The restaurant and bar are always fun for us to visit to have a drink (or drinks!); a snack; a meal and/or listen to some of the best local musicians perform! The restaurant and bar staff are also friendly; welcoming; and ready to make sure you enjoy your time there! We look forward to seeing them every year, too! Overall, The MBR is a great place to stay in Cape May; in a great location; with great people! You're sure to have a great time staying here!

Overall the hotel was satisfactory for a budget stay. The biggest appeal is the short distance(two minutes) to the beach. The minor issues were with the room itself where some of the furnishings and appliances were old or not working (the lights were flickering, the door hinges made a lot of noise and some of the drawers were difficult to close). On a more positive note, the room was clean, the bathroom modern and the free coffee appreciated. Do note, that the walls are quite thin and you can hear all your neighbors. Overall, I’d recommend especially if these minor issues don’t bother you.

The room was nice the beds were comfortable obviously off season maybe that's why the rest of the place kinda looks just ok. But the front desk was nice. Only thing I didn't like was before check out time the house keeping just opened the door because we were in the living room and shower. I feel like unless you someone checks out you shouldn't knock on the door an hour before check out...
