This hotel clearly demonstrated the vast gap between expectations and reality. There are only a few positive aspects to highlight: The bed was clean, comfortable, and the mattresses were perfectly aligned without any gaps. The reception staff was also friendly and helpful – polite, professional, and attentive, which was almost exceptional in this environment. However, that's the extent of the positives. The hotel's overall condition is poor. The furnishings are not only old but visibly neglected. Walls are damaged, and in some places, panels are hanging off. The carpets in the rooms and on the floors are worn, torn, and unkempt. It's clear that nothing has been properly maintained here for years. The bathroom facilities were particularly unpleasant. The toilet filter was essentially just an open hole – unhygienic and a clear invitation for insects. The toilet itself appeared to have been renovated at some point, but it was still broken. "Renovated" here obviously means non-functional. The worst part, however, was the smell. The rooms, hallways, elevator, and even the reception area were filled with a pervasive, fishy odor—rotten, stale, almost rotten. This stench permeated the entire stay and constantly created a feeling of uncleanliness. In addition, there was a significant noise problem. Loud technical equipment ran almost continuously, especially at night. A peaceful night's sleep was virtually impossible. In short: A hotel in poor condition that doesn't meet even today's minimum standards. The two stars are solely for the bed and the friendly, helpful staff at reception. For me, it's clear: never again.

I was there for work. I strongly advise against staying there. They accommodate people in precarious situations. There are insects that no one wants in their room during a stay in Strasbourg, anywhere really...

On December 17th, two receptionists displayed unacceptable aggression and rudeness. They completely refused to help in a critical situation, shouted, and showed a complete lack of respect. These individuals clearly do not belong in this profession.
