The Originals City, Hôtel Notre Dame, Rouen

THE HOTEL A nice hotel ⭐⭐⭐, admittedly a bit dated with old-fashioned carpeting, but most importantly, NO ELEVATOR, yet it still has charm. The reception was quite friendly and professional, so rare these days. THE ROOM (comfort) Room #5, which we occupied for 4 nights, located on the 1st floor, was quite decent and fairly bright, overlooking a park on one side and a small street providing access to the hotel on the other. However, being a light sleeper, there was a lot of noise from the street at night and in the morning from young people using nitrous oxide, with the consequences that entails...❗😢😢 But the hotel isn't responsible for that ❗🙏🙏 A fairly large room with a very comfortable queen-size bed (160 cm). I did, however, find the pillows far too soft for my liking and that of my wife. Two extra pillows would have been welcome. Of course, the room is equipped with a reasonably sized television, an electric kettle with instant coffee, tea, and two 50cl bottles of water. The clean bathroom (which isn't always the case in some hotels) is well-equipped with a bathtub, although I would have preferred a shower, but that's my fault; I forgot to mention it when booking. A minor issue: the 3/6 liter wall-hung toilet flush button wasn't working, and neither was the toilet, meaning the mirror fogged up when the door was opened, which was a shame. On the plus side, there were plenty of towels available and changed regularly, a wall-mounted hairdryer, and ample shower gel and shampoo. A bathroom cabinet with drawers was handy for storing our toiletries. BREAKFAST The breakfast, in my humble opinion, is simply worthy of a 4-star hotel. It includes: Hot and savory dishes that change daily Orange, apple, and grapefruit juices Cold savory items such as cold cuts and cheese Yogurt and fruit salad High-quality pastries Homemade cakes and pancakes (a special mention for the banana cake) 👍 Cereals, fruit... and I'm sure I'm forgetting some! In short, I really enjoyed it. Bravo! 🙏 Overall, a rather lovely establishment worthy of ⭐⭐⭐ stars.

A wonderful dog-friendly hotel. We just left it with our dog. Beautiful, clean, fresh rooms, excellent bed, very convenient location, friendly staff, and excellent service. We will stay again. Rouen will forever be in my heart.

It's better to add a few euros and opt for the Comfort Room. It's clean and the welcome is pleasant. Right in the city center, with ample parking. We slept well; the beds were comfortable and the sheets were very clean.
