This place is something else 😍 the food the staff and the views are to die for.... the service has been outstanding from check in to check out just amazing. Right near the airport so just walking distance little welcome gifts to check out gifts left on your doors. I know where im staying again. Perfect place to wind down after a long holiday

Our stay in Room 505 at The Patra Bali Resort & Villas turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience, sharply misaligned with the brand’s projected image of luxury hospitality. While the property looks visually impressive on the surface, the in-room experience and service execution exposed serious operational shortcomings. Initial Impression – Misleading Luxury At check-in, everything appeared polished and premium, creating a strong first impression. However, this perception deteriorated rapidly once we actually started using the services associated with our room. Spa Visit – Temporary Relief, Not a Redemption We opted for a spa massage due to travel fatigue. While the massage itself was acceptable, it stood out as one of the very few positives during the stay and did little to offset the overall experience in Room 505. Room Location & Accessibility Issues Room 505 is located unreasonably far from the lobby, making movement extremely inconvenient. Buggy service was required just to reach the room, which immediately raises concerns about accessibility—especially at night or during service issues. Unprofessional Noise Complaint Around 9:00 PM, while we were on a normal family phone call and laughing casually, the room phone rang. The reception bluntly complained about “too much noise” from our room, stating that neighbors could not sleep. The tone and timing of this call felt intrusive, poorly handled, and disproportionate, completely ignoring the realities of normal guest behavior in a resort environment. This interaction felt more like policing than hospitality. Excessive & Unjustified Charges At 10:30 PM, we requested extra drinking water via room service and were told it was chargeable. We were billed IDR 142,000 for just two bottles of water—an unreasonable charge for a resort claiming luxury standards. This reflects poor value perception and lack of guest-first thinking. Key Card Failure – Major Service Breakdown The following evening, after returning around 7:00 PM from an exhausting day outside, our room key for Room 505 stopped working. There was no nearby assistance, forcing us to walk all the way back to the lobby with my wife—an unacceptable situation given the distance. While the issue was eventually “fixed,” the inconvenience, fatigue, and lack of proactive support made this a major service failure. Dinner Plates Incident – Bureaucracy Over Hospitality We ordered dinner from Grab and simply asked for two plates to eat in our room. Shockingly, the hotel: • Charged IDR 30,000 for plates • Required us to sign a document for borrowing them This felt petty, transactional, and outright absurd for a resort of this category. The process was more reminiscent of a hostel inventory log than a five-star resort experience. Final Verdict – Room 505 Should Be Avoided Room 505 represents everything that went wrong during our stay—poor accessibility, rigid policies, excessive charges, lack of empathy, and operational inefficiency. While the resort markets itself as luxurious, the reality is policy-driven, guest-unfriendly, and operationally disconnected from true hospitality standards. Bottom Line: Despite its attractive exterior and branding, The Patra Bali Resort & Villas failed to deliver a basic level of comfort and courtesy during our stay in Room 505. This was not a luxury experience—it was frustrating, overpriced, and exhausting. We would not recommend staying in this room, and we would think twice before choosing this property again.
