The Piccolo Hotel Of Boracay

We were charged 4,000 for linen stained by henna, which we admit. We take responsibility for this. However, this price is completely excessive — almost equal to the cost of our entire stay — while the actual purchase price of standard hotel bedsheets is very low. Charging this much feels more like a penalty than a fair replacement. The room cleanliness was very disappointing. The bathroom was not properly cleaned, the TV remote was dusty, and the balcony had many lizard droppings. There were also a lot of mosquitoes, and the hotel provided a mosquito repellent machine that was dirty and full of dead mosquitoes. Accepting responsibility for the stains does not mean we should pay such an abusive fee. The way this situation was handled was unfair and unprofessional, and it does not meet the standard expected from a 3-star hotel. Overall, we do not recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. If you want easy access to D’Mall, this hotel is conveniently located. However, the road from the beach to D’Mall is poorly maintained, with many potholes, and there are a lot of people smoking along the way. This makes it uncomfortable and not advisable if you’re traveling with a baby or using a stroller. The room itself is decent for the price, but the building design is not child-friendly. Most of the railings are made of metal with large gaps that a 1–5 year old child could easily fit through. If you’re traveling with a toddler, there’s a real safety concern, and I would strongly recommend booking somewhere else. Security and maintenance were disappointing. The automatic door lock in our room was not working properly, and I had to call multiple times for it to be fixed. It was only resolved on our second day, and no apology was offered. You can request one service water per day per room, and towels are only replaced the next day even if you request a change earlier. The pool layout is also poorly planned. There are two pools: • One is located near the restaurant. If you swim there, people dining can easily see you, making it feel like you’re on display. There’s also a chance of water splashing into the dining area since the pool is very close to the food. • The second pool is at the back. It’s small but can accommodate around 10–15 people. As for the food, it was below average compared to other hotels in Boracay. The free breakfast is not a buffet and offers very limited choices. Other hotels in the same price range provide buffet breakfasts with more options. The food prices are also overpriced. Plain rice costs ₱50, and fried rice costs ₱75—definitely not worth the price. If you enjoy good food and want a stress-free stay in Boracay, I suggest looking for another hotel. I would not recommend this place for families with kids or toddlers. However, if your main priority is accessibility to D’Mall and being near the beach, this hotel may still work for you.

Convenient location, close to everything. Their rooms are really dated. We woke up in the middle of the night because of the irritating noise of the aircon, we didn't know where the sound was coming from, maybe because it's old. We couldn't sleep again so we called reception but there's no maintenance staff available. The receptionist asked us to transfer to another room meaning we packed up around 12 am. It was such a hassle. Our room was upgraded but the room smelled of termites and it can't be fixed by air freshener. Maybe we just got used to their bad rooms but that's about it.
