Safety concerns!!! Be aware, on December 25th, around 7:30 am, a stranger opened my door, after seeing me in bed looking at him, said “my bad bro” and left, there was no knocking, no house cleaning call, he cracked the door open first to look inside, not in the hotel uniform, wearing a beanie hat and puffy jacket with the collar up covering his face, the hotel’s response was there was no surveillance videos, no door lock record showing this has happened, simply nothing to provide, but told me 2 different stories one being a house cleaning entry at 8:54am and the second one being a member entered at 7:55am. Imagine what would have happened if I wasn’t awake and saw him, or my girlfriend was in the room alone that early in the morning.

We were graciously upgraded, and to our absolute surprise, they delivered birthday champagne and cake to our room—complete with the sweetest handwritten card. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch that made our celebration unforgettable. Crystal, Arturo, Robert, Kass, and every team member we encountered exemplified hospitality at its finest. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine care made us feel so valued and welcomed throughout our stay. I can confidently say I will never stay anywhere else in Chicago. The Royal Sonesta has earned a loyal guest for life—I am officially an RS fan forever. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience! 💛✨

Good hotel. Great location. We had a smaller room but it had a great bed and an even better veiw of the river and fireworks on new years eve. Can't complain great hotel.
