We had the pleasure of coming to the Stanneylands for a fantastic afternoon cream tea for my mums 70th birthday this weekend. From start to finish the experience was fabulous, my mum and dad were married here almost 40 years ago - which the team took great interest in and recognised on the day - the staff did a fantastic job, from taking the bookings, setting up the contracts and supporting our wishes through this process, through to making sure we all felt 110% welcome on arrival. We were in The Chambers (16 people) and the room felt lovely, the table was beautiful with fresh flowers, lovely crockery and pristine on arrival - with staff helping us to setup additional decorations. Highly recommend this room - you could comfortably fit 20 in here. The privacy was nice, but we still had a view through the bullseye glass windows and great access to the bar. The bar team that were on shift on the 22/02/26 were simply brilliant, nothing was too much trouble - great with my nephews, and the team serving the afternoon tea were attentive, patient and certainly made sure we were well looked after. We were served fluffy warm and fresh fruit scones, fresh cakes (lemon drizzle, cherry bakewell, macarons, chocolate brownies) with danish crowns as an added extra. The sandwiches were lovely (ham, egg, smoked salmon) and plenty of tea and coffee. Although we could have done with a couple more sandwich fingers each… it felt brilliant value and quality - everything was lovely and fresh. Well done team, great venue, lovely bar area, brilliant food and above all top notch service - a credit to your front of house and kitchen team. Thank you for making my mums 70th special and for looking after us all. Five stars.
