I stayed here with my husband for one night as we were visiting Chicago and needed to be at an appointment in Kenosha very early in the morning. The night we stayed was actually our wedding anniversary, and my husband called a few days in advance to let them know and ask if there is anything local they would recommend that we do to make the day a little special. He received a very blasé answer from the person at the front desk and was sent a link to Kenosha‘s website. Not at all helpful. The room itself was clearly recently remodeled which was nice, but there were absolutely no frills and it just seems like a remodeled motel room. I have to note that the pillows were the most uncomfortable pillows I have ever laid my head on. We tossed and turned until 3 am. **The room itself was not clean when we walked in, and we had to clean sticky coffee stains and hair off of the nightstands ourselves. ** We were one of maybe two other people staying at the hotel that night and there was no food available in the hotel because the restaurant closes on Sundays and they had a sparse canteen area with overpriced chips. We ended up just going to a fast food spot since it was late and we had an early morning. Even though they must have had plenty of time and availability due to how quiet it was, the person at the front desk seemed more interested in being on their phone than making our stay comfortable and pleasant. They were told it was our first year wedding anniversary, yet there was nothing left to delight or surprise us. Disappointing seeing as this place is supposed to double as a wedding venue. With the lack of guests at the hotel, it would have been easy to at least upgrade us to a bigger room. After working in customer service for many years and knowing people in the hospitality business, I am so disappointed at the lack of care we received. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. I know it’s a small town and it’s not Chicago, but this place has a lot of potential and could be a fantastic spot if their guests were treated with more care and thoughtfulness. But if you’re going to Kenosha anytime soon, I recommend the Wyndham instead.
